Principal Engineer, Software Architecture Job - (vernon hills, illinois)

What you will do:
:
Be a technical expert and contributor to the Harman navigation module software architecture that powers some of the most luxurious automotive brand names and is currently installed in millions of vehicles.
:
Leverage existing codebase but also seek ways to improve the navigation module performance and capabilities.
We believe that you will never get to your destination without a great design and interfaces.
What you bring to the role:
:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science :
5
years experience in professional software engineering having shipped several consumer grade products :
2:
5 years of experience in CC+
preferably with some exposure to embedded systems.
You must be comfortable with STL templates and libraries such as BOOST or similar.
:
Broad experience with the inner workings and design of a global navigation software stack :
Ability to design modules that will meet the requirements of today and scale to work in conjunction with modules adding new functionality in the future.
:
Deep knowledge of embedded device constraints and how to root cause or debug issues through the entire SW development life cycle.
:
Master of analyzing and extracting as much performance as possible from HW and SW solutions using tools like:
kernel traces, process memory and CPU consumption, memory and storage I/O throughput analysis :
Good team player, must have worked as part of medium or large size team Eligibility Requirements:

Willingness to work in an office near Vernon Hills, IL :
Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test :
