Otto Baum Company, Inc. provides construction services throughout central Illinois and has been in business since 1937. Currently we are in need of an experienced estimator/project manager who has at least 10 years experience estimating, bidding, and project managing all aspects of projects involving all manner of concrete construction. This includes footings, foundations, slabs (on grade & elevated), pavement, curb/gutter, sidewalks, utilities, excavation, aggregates and etc. Moreover, since OBCI is invested in the HCSS Heavy Bid program, the applicants understanding of this program will weigh heavily in the hiring process.
In addition to the technical knowledge and understanding of the concrete/civil industry, the candidate must have great soft skills, work well with a team, and enjoy achieving personal goals in a fast paced and challenging environment. The general duties that this position must perform includes, but is not limited to:
Pre-bid activities
Bidding & Sales
Project Management
Customer Relations
Business Development
The minimum qualifications that we are looking for include the following:
At least 10 years experience estimating, bidding, and project managing concrete and civil projects
Bachelors degree in construction-related field is preferable, but not mandatory
Exceptional skills in HCSS Heavy Bid, HCSS Heavy Job, and In-Site on screen take-off
Team-oriented with the ability to communicate with team members and management
Must be able to work in high pressure situations facing strict deadlines
Detail and accuracy oriented

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
