Programmer Writer Administrative & Office Jobs - Morton, IL at Geebo

Programmer Writer

Among engineers, game devs are a rare breed.
They range from inspired, passionate hackers, to deeply technical artists, to some of the most advanced programmers out there.
All of them have one thing in common:
An endless need to create more, to experiment more, to build more, to learn more.
To build the best their visions demand, they must realize the intersection between hardware, mathematics, computer science, and player delight - and with as little friction as possible, given the time and resource constraints.
At Lumberyard, we recognize that learning - particularly through docs and examples -- is as much a part of a great game development experience as a cutting-edge, AAA-ready game engine, tools, SDKs, and support are.
So what's Lumberyard? It's a free, AAA game engine and toolset deeply integrated with AWS and Twitch - and fully open-source.
We built it to help big game ideas come to life - and with the full power of the cloud to support all of the on-line features and storage needs for the best, most seamless delivery and play experiences.
But we need your help! To succeed in bringing the power of Lumberyard to game developers, we need technical writers who can write docs that enable, inspire, and ultimately, help our customers ship the best game experiences on our platform.
So here's the pitch:
Do you understand game development? Can you write well for highly technical folks? Do you want to teach our customers how to make the best games possible on our platform? Read on, and apply now!Responsibilities Create documentation, code samples, and support assets for Lumberyard tools, APIs, and scripting Participate, plan, and manage customer-focused documentation work in an Agile environment Track and report on content performance against customer goals using key metrics Partner closely with engineering teams and represent the docs customer in all efforts Help improve the products by identifying new features and bugs Work with developers to deliver best-in-class API reference documentation Be the first customer for all the Lumberyard features and tools - and provide timely technical feedback on the experience!.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
