Morton, IL Morton, IL Full-time Full-time $55,000 - $75,000 a year $55,000 - $75,000 a year Job Summary The Purchasing Agent is responsible for choosing the best suppliers, negotiating the best prices, providing recommendations and industry analysis, contract scheduling and negotiations, and building relationships with internal and external customers.
Primary Job Duties:
Acquires goods and/or services within specific commodities.
Sources products for office and production supplies, packaging, and building maintenance and repair supplies Builds and maintains supplier relationships Communicates and collaborates with various departments throughout the organization to help make purchasing decisions Communicates with Accounting on invoice payments and asset acquisitions Trains facility personnel on use of ERP software Assists with special projects and other duties as needed.
Prepares monthly reports on departmental successes Education &
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field 5 - 10 years working in a similar position; Or a combination of both education and work experience Knowledge/Abilities:
Negotiation, analytical and organizational skills Written and oral communication skills Strong attention to accuracy and detail Ability to work independently and in a team environment Adaptable to change Possess critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to prioritize effectively with a sense of urgency Proficient computer skills including email, routine database activity, Microsoft Word and Excel Location:

Some local travel to facilities in the Peoria Metro area.
