COMMUNICATIONS/MARKETING MANAGER EMPLOYER:

Responsibilities:
Building upon Advance Illinois' communications efforts to date, the two main areas of responsibility include:
1) enhancing and implementing the communications strategies of the organization and, 2) managing and expanding the Real Learning for Real Life communications campaign ( www.commoncoreil.org ) staffed by Advance Illinois. Project m
anage the development of a new Advance Illinois website ( www.advanceillinois.org ) Develop and implement digital engagement strategies for Advance Illinois and the Real Learning for Real Life campaign Develop or locate content for digital media vehicles Place Facebook and Google Adwords advertising Manage relationships with the 45 Core Coalition organizations supporting the Real Learning for Real Life campaign Participate in communications planning meetings around Advance Illinois initiatives Draft media alerts and press releases as needed Draft Real Learning for Real Life bimonthly newsletter Support marketing, public relations and media relations efforts related to AI's special events Work with vendors and contractors as necessary to complete projects.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelors degree 4-6 years of progressive experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or related Strong writing and content development skills, especially the capacity to develop engaging social media copy and content The ability to analyze response data and make recommendations to improve results Ability to manage multiple projects and stay on task Proficiency in Office Word and Powerpoint Graphic design skills a plus Enthusiasm for emerging technologies as tools for social change Strongly preferred:
Knowledge of education reform or other experience in education Bilingual-Spanish Salary commensurate with experience and full benefits package available. To apply:
